Carl
Shavitz
Founder/Director of the Artisan Bread School. An
artisan baker, he supplies breads to restaurants and
specialty shops in the Cambridge area and London. He
lives in the Cambridgeshire Fens of East Anglia in the
United Kingdom. Carl started Artisan Bread School in
2005 and devotes May each year to teaching at its School
in Italy. He has given numerous courses in the United
Kingdom and in March 2010 returned to the United
States for the third time. Future courses are being
scheduled on both the East and West Coasts of the USA
for 2010 and 2011. Carl trained at The Village Bakery
in Melmerby, Cumbria and Ballymaloe
Cookery School in Cork, Ireland. He worked at The
Village Bakery and The
Three Crowns Inn in Herefordshire before becoming
an independent artisan baker.
